Breathe life into your painting with colour that expresses what you see and what you feel. With the wonderful surroundings of Casole as inspiration we will explore what 'Expressive Colour' means for you. This is probably different for each of us, but a common factor might be desire to use colour that is fresh and lively and that somehow captures the essence or magic of the subject we have chosen and expresses our essential feelings about us.

We will draw and paint from landscape and still life observing and interpreting colour and also from imagination using such sources as music and poetry. For those who would find it useful there will also be some structured tuition in colour theory and mixing, with notes to take away.

The emphasis will be on water based media - mainly watercolours and gouache but bring acrylics and oils if you prefer. Pastels, both oils and soft are also very 'immediate' and convenient to use out of doors.

ABOUT BELLA GREEN
Since 1997 Bella has lived and worked in Eskdalemuir, Dumfriesshire, Scotland, where she has made her home and studio. After many years of teaching and painting she now devotes all of her time to painting.

She was born and brought up in Glasgow. After school, she followed her family south and did a two year Foundation Course at Harrow School of Art.

She has been a professional elected member of the Scottish Society of Artists and Craftsmen, now Visual Arts Scotland (VAS), since 1992.
