There is the choice of the Pizzeria or the Trattoria in the village for the evening meal. Tuition is available for 5 hours a day for 11 days out of the 12 days of your stay, though you are welcome to use the studios at any time. Normally there will be two life drawing sessions. Anyone with a willingness to learn is welcome whatever their standard.

Vince Tutton is a landscape artist who not only has considerable experience as a practising artist, but an equally impressive background as a teacher of art college students, adult education, children, the handicapped and psychiatric patients.
He was a Fulbright Scholar at Miami Dade Community College, Florida and the recipient of Italian Government Scholarships.
Although Vince is now firmly based in Cornwall he spends a number of months each year visiting Italy and more recently has worked in southern Spain after being awarded two painting residencies.

This year I will be offering a course covering all aspects of painting, drawing and mixed media techniques. The village of Casole d'Elsa itself and its surrounding landscape is a wealth of stimulation for all lovers of the Tuscan landscape, architecture and way of life and it's the intention of both courses that besides exploring the many visual opportunities on offer using just one or more painting, drawing and/or mixed media techniques that you should also relax and enjoy yourself. There will be introductory demonstrations on various techniques and slide talks relating to my own work and to involvements. Tuition will be on an individual basis and with my encouragement and guidance I hope that you will leave the Centro with the confidence, skills and enthusiasm to continue your own explorations and to further develop your ideas.

VINCE TUTTON has had a close association with Centro and the village of Casole d'Elsa for the past 18 years. He is an artist of considerable experience, but with an equally impressive background in education. He has taught Art College students, Adult Education and Communty Arts Groups. He was also a Fulbright Scholar at Miami Dade Community College, Florida and the recipient of Italian Government Scholarships and painting residencies at the Foundation Valparaiso in Spain. Originally from the Rhondda Valleys of South Wales, Vince is now based on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. However, the close personal and professional links both he and his family have with this area brings them back to Casole each summer and is very evident in his work.

Materials: It will not be necessary to bring the full range of materials listed. During the introductory sessions all materials used (except the more expensive paper and painting boards) will be provided at a small cover charge. Following these workshops you will be expected to use your own materials. You should also bring your own brushes, pencils, eraser, sketch book and palette.
