The Isle of Tanera Mor, by Ullapool
Please contact us for dates
Traditional cottages, full board in single room, reduction if sharing - please ask
|
An artist’s paradise! The Summer Isles, floating like pearls just off the north west coast of Scotland, are magical. Mountains, lochs, islands and white, white beaches.
Join Laura on the only inhabited island in the group. On Tanera Mor there are no cars and no TV and only the sound of the breeze and the birds will intrude on your peace. We will stay in several traditional cottages which have spectacular views back to the mainland and Stac Polly. The delicious food and wine is provided by the owners, Jean and Bill Wilder.
The theme of this holiday is Nature itself - capturing the harmony of land, sea and sky. Much of the week will be spent outdoors drawing and painting, experiencing the the qualities of light and colour, breathing the air, hearing the silence so that all our senses will help us to a true understanding of this harmony which is so evident here. However, there is a studio space for our use, if necessary. Also, weather permitting, we will take a boat trip and explore some of the neighbouring islets.
This holiday includes:
6 days tuition (approx 5 hours per day)
7 nights full board (including wine)
Ferry from Achiltibuie to Tanera Mor
An afternoon boat trip around the islands

What a fantastic week we have all shared! I still feel as though I've had an 'out of life' experience. I shall never forget it.

I have such pleasant memories of the Mijas 'holiday'; Nicky put together such a well-balanced trip and the company was delightful too. I hope I can take part again next year.

Just a note to say thank you for a most enjoyable and instructive week. I feel I have learnt so much and am motivated to do more drawing and carry a sketch-book.
ML, Cephalonia
The time and effort spent on planning and organisation must have been considerable but the fact that everything ran so smoothly was testament to that and made it all the more enjoyable for the group.
Kay, Cephalonia
We had excellent tuition, a fantastic studio to work in; the views were very dramatic and atmospheric.
