FREE YOUR CREATIVITY IN THE RONDA HILLS (#339)
This week can be treated as an extension of your week at Finca las Nuevas or you can come to draw and paint freely alongside like minded people. It is an untutored week, but Nicky knows the ground locally and will organise transport to exciting places in the natural and built landscapes. We will all gain inspiration from each other and our surroundings.
Our base is the village of Júzcar in the beautiful hills to the south of Ronda where we will be in close contact with the rugged Andalucian landscape. The bristling chestnut trees, blue green olive groves, rocky outcrops and remote villages will be the subject matter around us. The surrounding hills and walks are spectacular, and you will appreciate the patterns in the groves of trees and rivers as well as the colours and layers of receding hillsides, punctuated with lonely farms and wind mills. We stay in the Hotel Bandolero www.hotelbandolero.com where you will enjoy 5 nights’ half board with exceptional cuisine in the evenings, mountain views and a relaxing swimming pool. On longer days out we can buy quality packed lunches from the hotel. There will be an optional visit to Ronda to view the famous Gorge where you will be able to see Moorish and Christian buildings jostling together in picturesque cobbled streets or even buy a new sketch book! Other options include guided hill walking and an authentic flamenco evening in Ronda. This Escape includes: Return flights Edinburgh – Malaga All transport in Spain, including airport transfers 5 nights’ accommodation with breakfast & dinner 2 nights’ B&B accommodation Laura is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and an experienced artist and teacher who offers regular courses in and around Scotland.
