Painting with Colour in and around Mijas, Andalucia

Please contact us for dates

Balcon de Mijas, self catered flats, single supplement £116
Price for 2 weeks: Mijas and Finca las Nuevas £1,320

The normally white village of Mijas bursts into colour during this week in September when it celebrates its patron saint, the Virgin of the Rock. There are all sorts of traditional activities, processions and decorations which provide plenty of atmosphere and inspiration. When you’ve had enough of the hurly burly, you can escape to your comfortable self catering apartment at the quiet end of Mijas, surrounded by a lovely mature garden with its swimming pool and magnificent views to the Mediterranean and over the surrounding hills.

Nicky will provide enthusiasm, tuition and demonstrations on five days with the option of a day trip to the lively cosmopolitan city of Málaga. Here you could choose to draw in the Moorish fortress of the Alcazába, or visit the impressive Cathedral and the palace home to the Picasso Museum, Malaga’s most famous son, or you can just shop till you drop into one of the many attractive tapas bars! We will also have varied trips to nearby country drawing locations as well as drawing in the garden of the Balcon and in the village. www.balcondemijas.com

This Escape includes:
Return flights to Malaga from Edinburgh
All transport during the week, including airport transfers
5 days’ art tutoring
7 nights’ accommodation (self catering)
Optional day trip to Malaga
Optional quality Andalucian wine tasting

What a fantastic week we have all shared! I still feel as though I've had an 'out of life' experience. I shall never forget it.

I have such pleasant memories of the Mijas 'holiday'; Nicky put together such a well-balanced trip and the company was delightful too. I hope I can take part again next year.

DK, Summer Isles 2008

I just loved the whole experience!
Jennifer Tanner, Andalucia

Just a note to say thank you for a most enjoyable and instructive week. I feel I have learnt so much and am motivated to do more drawing and carry a sketch-book.
ML, Cephalonia

The time and effort spent on planning and organisation must have been considerable but the fact that everything ran so smoothly was testament to that and made it all the more enjoyable for the group.
Kay, Cephalonia

We had excellent tuition, a fantastic studio to work in; the views were very dramatic and atmospheric.
Marie Peltenburg, Catterline, Scotland
