Classes are in Wallaceton Village Hall
Nr Dunscore, Dumfries , Scotland

There will be more workshops planned through
out the year call for details or look at my website.

Workshops are suitable for all students from
Total beginner to the more experienced.
Tutoring will be tailored to suit each students needs.

The workshops will be focused, creative and intensive, for students to gain a good working understanding of the human form. We will work in clay directly from the life model, making clay sketches, short studies and then working on a longer pose for more in depth study. There will be flexibility for students who wish to move from direct representational interpretation to creating their own expressive or abstracted interpretation of the human form.

For the workshops with a Life model
and lunch the total fee is £50 per day
Clay is £10 per bag
(you will probably use 1 bag)
Work to be fired is £5.00 per piece

Briefly - what we will do in the workshops

These workshops will be focused, creative and intensive, for students to gain a good working understanding of the human form.
They are suitable for all students from absolute beginner to the more experienced.

All students will be tutored on an individual basis, everyone works at their own pace.

We will learn about the proportions, basic anatomy, rhythms and dynamics of the human figure.
We will be studying the human form through life drawing, clay sketches, and short studies culminating in a three/four-day pose.
We will aim to make one main focused piece of work, creating an in-depth observation and exploration of the human form.

There will be flexibility for students who wish to move from direct representational interpretation to creating their own expressive or abstracted interpretation of the human form.

Students will be working in clay without an armature. We will be using a fairly groggy crank or hand-building clay.

The max size of the work will be determined by kiln sizes and transportation restrictions.

We aim to have serious fun, to work hard and to extend our perceptions of the human form

Learning to really look at what 'is' rather than what we 'think' it is.
