An intimate approach to tasting the delicious wines of Umbria. Small groups of no more than 8 wine lovers! (Contact us for bigger groups.) We go off the beaten track and take you to the lesser known, family owned and run cantinas in the gorgeous rolling hills of Umbria. Lunch in a local trattoria or agriturismo or even a cantina is included, as are any tasting fees. Meet the wine makers and their families, taste their freshly made delicacies, sample their fabulous wines. Your friendly English driver will guide you through the day and keep you entertained with stories of the cantinas! If you want a day to remember, a fun experience with like-minded folks and plenty of wine-tasting memories to take home, then this is the wine tour for you!

Gusto offers daily, guided wine tours of the Montefalco area cantinas at only €135 per person. Our specialty is small and ‘non-touristy’.

YOU will be visiting 3-4 hidden-gem cantinas of Umbria in the course of your day.
YOU will visit 2 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. In the middle will be a truly memorable authentic Umbrian lunch served in a local trattoria, agriturismo or even at one of the cantinas.
YOU will meet the winemakers, taste the incredible and unique Sagrantino di Montefalco, a wine made nowhere else in the world commercially.
You will also be able to sample the winemakers’ individual versions of the Montefalco Rosso which includes at least 10-15% Sagrantino.
YOU will try some of the white wines like the Trebbiano Spoletino, again, grown only in this area.
Plus, the fabulous Passito, the dessert wine of Italy, both reds and whites.

With all these tastings, you will be offered nibbles to eat with the wine, the only way to properly appreciate and bring out the full flavours.

We have found some lovely places for you to eat your full Umbrian lunch. We had to try each one, a terrible job, but it just had to be done...!

Depending on the time of year, you could get to see the grape harvest and crushing or the bottling process.

Whatever the time of year you will have a great time exploring the delights of the Umbrian wines with Gusto!

A grand cru is a matter of origin in time as in space. The Château Palmer style is embedded in history and dedicated to the expression of its terroir. It is a style beyond fashion and trends. To experience its timelessness, there is no better way than to taste it. Again and again. Finesse and el...
